I spoke to my friend Dr. Ed the other day about creating a blog to share my experiences in Bhutan with my family and friends back home. He suggested blogspot.com leading me to set up this site. Departure date is February 28, 2014. I look forward to sharing my photos and stories with you all.
Hi Dr. Andy,
ReplyDeleteI have just stumbled upon your blog and am about to get stuck into it, but I have a few questions!
I am a 28 year old Canadian/Australian nursing student at an Australian University. I will be a registered nurse by the end of the year and would love nothing more than to volunteer in Bhutan in the near future.
I went to Bhutan with the University at the end of 2013 and participated in a couple of shifts at JDWNRH with some students from RIHS. I also spent a day in a satellite clinic and did community health checks at the Memorial Chorten (which was my favourite day!).
My heart is in Bhutan, and I desperately want to go back. While there I was told I should come volunteer when I am registered, but am finding it very difficult finding any information about how I would become a volunteer there. I was hoping you might be able to tell me how you came to volunteer in Bhutan and if you might be able to point me in the right direction?
Thank you,
Kristen
